Adding Asset URL as a read-only field?

I was wondering if the development team could add the Asset URL as a read-only field to Assets when viewing them and as a field that is viewable when browsing assets from the Web app search view. It is not extremely difficult to extract the image URLs currently but it would be a nice little quality of life update for clients with no tech knowledge who are writing blog posts etc. Just an extra click or two saved.

Please let me know what you think,
Josh

Hey @Jbender,

Have you already taken a look at the roles and permissions features?

https://www.contentful.com/r/knowledgebase/roles-and-permissions/

If so, don’t you think that could help doing what you desire, or am I missing part of your use case?

Hey Josh,

I saw this and made a quick UI Extension that might help you out: https://github.com/willjrobinson/media-url-contentful-ui-extension Feel free to submit a PR if there’s anything missing, it’s a bit rough around the edges but does what I think you’re after.

Any questions and reply here or I’m around on the Contentful Community Slack too!

Will

Hey Will,

Sorry for the late reply. I was on vacation last week. I appreciate you taking the time to build out something like this, it does indeed make it handier for the client as they do not need to leave the Content screen.

Thanks a ton,
Josh
